Schooling dates back to February 1823 when James Kemp taught Maori boys in a barn at the Kerikeri Mission station. By 1824 a building designed to be used both as school and chapel had been built.. Education today is well catered for with both public & private schools for all ages, & a campus of NorthTec at the top of the Stone Store hill. |
Kerikeri High School is a Year 7 to 13, Decile 7, state secondary school with approximately 1400 day students and 150 staff. |
Springbank School is a co-educational private school with over 200 primary and secondary students. Springbank was established in 1996 and also operates a Preschool for children under five. |
