Waitangi Day Celebrations 6 February 2012 At 5.30am the nation's birthday begins in prayerful mood at the Whare Runanga. A lone piper will greet the dawn at the country's largest Naval flagstaff to begin a day of sports, ceremony and community family fun. The internationally acclaimed Royal New Zealand Air Force aerobatic and precision flying team, the "Red Checkers" will be putting on an acrobatic display on Waitangi Day. Tony is a world famous vocal coach, singer and composer who has been influential in the revival of a capella singing, particularly in gospel music. BDO Twin Coast Cycle Challenge Whangarei, Dargaville, Opononi, Paihia, Whangarei 15-18 March 2012, 8:00am Four Days, Two Coasts, 360km of cycling for the beginner to the advance cyclist. The event will follow Northland’s fully sealed Twin Coast Discovery Highway which touches New Zealand’s essence: natural environment, amazing scenery, fishing, diving, walks, culture and heritage, golf, food, wine and people.
