FINALLY!!! Thank you for this site. KO Taratara taku maunga. My mum and dad both deceased a long time ago, Ani and Nahi Solomon. I am the youngest of 7,if you can call 49 young, I do!!. We have lost two siblings in our family, sister Dorothey and brother Boyce (Frank to many). Rotorua fought for Dorothey which is where she is buried and Waihapa got Boyce. We are especially saddend by our sister being so far away but knowing that one our favourite uncles (Bill Jensen) is buried in Rotorua lessens the hurt.

Kia Ora, I'm trying to trace my Nanas family. Apparently they may have been from up North in either, Russell, Kaikohe, Hokianga or Dargaville. Does anyone know of any Kelly, Ferguson or Sullivan families. I'n trying to find info on Erina/ Elina Kelly. She would have been my Nanas great grandmother and she was born in 1823 somewhere up North. She married Thomas Kelly and had several children including Jane Louise and Samuel. She may have 'married' a couple of times. Her mother was Elizabeth Ferguson - maiden name Sullivan. She died in Dargaville in 1931. If anyone could help that would be fantastic. Is anyone able to give me any information on one John Harrison. I know thisi is a very common name so I will try and be as detailed as possible. As far as I know Johnny Harrison was originally from up North, I was told around Pawarenga, but had connections with Mangamuka. He was part of a troop who left the Noerth to seek work in and around the King Country and Taupo districts, around the late 1940s-1950s. As far as I know he had a family down there, and settled in Taumarunui. His family name has a few different variations, but am not quite sure as to which one was used by him. The variations are, HARRIS, HARIHONA, HAREHONE. Johnny Harrison, if still alive today would probably be around his mid 70s to early 80s. He is my grandfather. You can probably tell that I know next to nothing about him. My mother - his daughter - has no idea who he is apart from that he is her father. My mother has been looking for so long that she has given up looking. My mother's mother is Ruby Parsons, and My mother's name is Tina Marie Smith. They and Johnny lived at Taumarunui, together. Johnny However left my mum and nan, when my mum was a baby.We have been told that we are related to the Tatana, Wiki, and Pomare families.
